Yama Tabletop Coffee Siphon

The Yama Tabletop Coffee Siphon 5-Espresso-Cups includes an alcohol burner so that you can brew your coffee drinks right on your table! This feature also makes the Tabletop Siphon a great coffee presentation for any coffee bar or restaurant. To make coffee with the Yama Tabletop Coffee Siphon, start with a slightly finer grind of coffee. Drop the washable, reusable cloth covered filter into the infusion chamber so that the chain hangs down into the glass siphon tube. Pull the chain down and hook it to the bottom of the siphon tube. Fill the bottom carafe to the mark for the desired number of cups with hot water and place one measuring spoon of coffee per cup in top chamber. Fill the burner with "soot free" denatured alcohol, ethyl or an ethyl / isopropyl mixture that's high on the ethanol side. (See note below on alcohol.) It takes about 4 minutes to heat the water which is siphoned to the top chamber. Allow 2 minutes for the brewing. Remove the coffee from the heat source; it will return to the bottom carafe. Remove the top, placing it in its convertible lid/stand. A word about the alcohol: isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) tends to burn hotter than ethyl or methyl alcohols, but also burns orange and produces a lot of soot. This is available at hardware or outdoor stores.
