Our Wicked Crew!

Looking to make a difference daily? We produce coffee that we are proud of with the highest quality beans we can source. More importantly, we are appreciative of our team here that makes it all possible. Wicked Joe has grown some since it first opened in our treasured State of Maine but remains a family owned and operated business which aims to produce exceptional coffees based on long lasting partnerships with our organic farmers around the globe. We are committed to growing our team with the same values we started with; Quality, Community and Sustainability, supporting the individual development of our staff as we expand. In order to guide and care for our meaningful relationships with all crew members we offer a variety of benefits below;

Four Day Work Week: Currently, our team works 10 hour days from Monday through Thursday. This enables our crew to have a three day weekend and allows for a consistent schedule for life outside of work and healthy work-life balance.

Growth Opportunities: Dynamic company culture: often team members will find themselves feeling confident flowing between multiple roles, expanding their knowledge and skills in a variety of positions, often based on personal interest and potential. Staff "Seed to Cup" classes given each year to make sure the whole team develops their professional knowledge of the best practices in the coffee industry.

Wicked Unique Benefits: A more obvious benefit, but still worth noting is crew access to free organic coffee and tea daily and weekly free bags of coffee for personal use. Our coffee is delicious so this is quite a perk.

Garden Club: Members of our crew that want to are given their own organic garden bed to grow their own personal produce, with the seeds, seedlings, water, soil, etc. supplied by Wicked Joe. Staff members can manage and tend our company community beds along with their own to have some quality time outdoors, to learn more about gardening and our campus environment.

Meet Our Team

We have an awesome "Wicked Crew". Read more about them below.

Laurel our Production Manager

"No matter how busy we are, the quality of what leaves Wicked Joe is most important", shared Laurel, our Production Manager for the processing facility. Day to day, Laurel is responsible for checking the needs and due dates of coffee orders to make sure they are getting processed and completed, all according to our SOP's. Laurel also helps out in shipping when needed, making sure all orders are out within our shipping policy timeframe. "I love that Wicked Joe is organic coffee, which means that people buying and drinking our coffee have a love for sustainability practices." Her hard work means that this special coffee is getting the attention and care it deserves. She is always willing to go the extra mile and is clearly proud of the work she produces and the team she leads. As part of the hiring crew, Laurel is extremely helpful and patient to new hires and is always a compassionate teammate to work beside.

Unsurprisingly, Laurel exceeds the standards in her personal life as well. Mother to 15 year old Bella Ann, they love to go camping, on mud runs, four-wheeling and pretty much any bad-ass mother daughter activities. Laurel also has a love for country music and tries to go to as many concerts with her mom as she can, to share those special moments.

As a success story, Laurel encapsulates what hard work, reliability and passion about a job can bring to those who wish to grow with our company.

Jason

"I love my job because I try to get as much done each day as I can. It's the challenging and technical aspect of running the machine that makes my job so much fun" shared Jason of our fresco team. This crew member has constant positivity and persistence that has helped him excel in this department. His quick proficiency and adaptation when working with the fresco is worth noting - along with his dedication to his work. Jason often comes in a few minutes early to get the machine warmed up and is the last one out, making sure his area is cleaned to the specifications for processing organic coffee. Day to day, he leads, troubleshoots and always maintains a positive vibe when confronted with challenges. Our fresco machine is responsible for processing almost all of our Wicked Joe 12 oz. bags, so you can imagine how grateful we are to have such a great crew member leading this area.

Jason's warm smile and quiet demeanor are refreshing and make him a nice person to work beside. He has a calm patience and unmatched eagerness that his team admires and demonstrates his talents through his actions, exemplifying the adage that "Humility is the surest sign of strength".

Jason wants to share that he has a enduring love for his wife and also has an affinity for video games and peanut butter!

We celebrate the passion, cheer and quiet strength that he brings to his job and our team daily.

Tina

"Listening to the equipment is one of the most important parts of getting this job done right. That and making sure you let people know when they are doing a good job" explained Tina, one of our crew members with the most longevity here at Wicked Joe. Tina helps run our frac and 5lb. bagging area, which requires her to prep, grind and package our coffee daily for our wholesale customers, all while routinely checking for quality control. "Tuning in" seems a difficult task for most but is effortless for Tina, both in regard to the intricate machines she operates and the crew members she guides. It takes a special person to lead the way she does with infectious joy, patience and kindness. When asked what her spirit animal was she replied without hesitation The Sloth "because they may be the slowest but they are determined! They will cross crocodile infested water to get what they want and they are always smiling". Tina has a lovable spirit and positive work ethic and is remarkably patient training our crew members in her area.

In her free time, Tina can be caught on the disc golf course, playing some poker, baking or snuggling with her doggie. Thank you for encouraging us to be better people Tina!

Beth

"It's so different every day and I love the pace", described Beth about her job as a Sales Account Manager here at Wicked Joe. Beth's day-to-day responsibilities include managing the Wicked Joe website, wholesale and grocery accounts as well as some accounting tasks and customer service. She also helps the Sales Team with product inventory and platform management and then often participates as a liaison at trade shows and events. Beyond these duteous tasks, Beth is always looking for ways to improve initiatives and our Topsham Maine campus. She leads the charge in our Wicked Organic Garden and also Community outreach. Beth embodies the idea that "leadership is an action, not a position" and is very proud to be working here and making a positive impact. She first applied here because Wicked Joe is certified organic and then was thrilled to also become B Corp certified. Beth is always ready to jump in anywhere to lend a helping hand and can light up the warehouse with her smile. The world is constantly improving because Beth is in it and we are so fortunate to have her inspiring our staff.

Noah

"There is a science and a type of art that goes into each roast", as one of our roasters, Noah, describes it. Day to day, Noah's role requires him to mange each roast he produces, (grabbing samples, pairing correct lot number and distributing it to what part of production it's going to) as well as supervising all aspects of his roasting machine. He has to keep a close eye on each batch for accuracy, which is what helps deliver to you a deliciously consistent cup of joe. Beyond his affinity for coffee, Noah is a kick-ass musician, loyal fan of Seinfeld and can be found taking long walks on the beach. Noah's band is called "The Backwoods Blues Revue" and you can find him performing almost every weekend (especially in the summer) up, down and all around Maine. He is a genuine and kind person with a warmness that no roasting machine can match! Thank you for being a thoughtful member of our Wicked Joe Crew with your careful attention to detail Noah. We don't think there is a more appropriate person to say to that "YOU ROCK"!
